Día de la Diversidad Cultural en el Casco Histórico de la Ciudad

Actividad que vincula el origen multiétnico y multicultural enraizado en nuestra comunidad a través de un recorrido histórico y una visita al Museo Etnográfico.

Nuestra comunidad desde sus orígenes es el resultado de una particular alquimia que reconoce la mezcla de diversas expresiones culturales y étnicas. Los pueblos originarios, las poblaciones europeas en diversos periodos, las “naciones” africanas y, más recientemente, las comunidades latinoamericanas y asiáticas, han ido conformando un entramado diverso, complejo y de gran riqueza que constituye un elemento esencial de nuestra cultura e identidad.

La propuesta que realizamos en esta oportunidad es conocer el origen de la conmemoración y cómo se transformó la óptica de los festejos a partir de la revisión de la historia. La visita al Museo Etnográfico permite acercar al público al conocimiento de la cultura que se había gestado originalmente en nuestro territorio al tiempo que significa un repaso sobre las comunidades que se asentaron posteriormente. Se trata de hacer un reconocimiento de diferentes facetas incorporadas a nuestra cultura a partir de este sello tan nuestro que es la diversidad cultural.

Change the future. give.wmf.org Connect           Photo courtesy of the Architectural Institute of Japan, Shikoku Chapter 2012 Modernism Prize Winner Announced The 2012 World Monuments Fund/Knoll Modernism Prize has been awarded to the Architectural Consortium for Hizuchi Elementary School for their exemplary restoration of a 1950s school in Hizuchi, Yawatahama City, Japan. The prize will be presented at the Museum of Modern Art in New York on November 13 at 6 pm, followed by a lecture. Seating is limited and lecture registration details will be announced October 15.  Two WMF Partners Win Awards Two of WMF's local partners have won Global Vision Awardsfrom Travel + Leisure magazine: Grupo Patrimonio Cultural for work in Andahuaylillas, Peru, and the Namgyal Institute for Research on Ladakhi Art & Culture (pictured) for work on Sumda Chun in Ladakh, India, have each won awards in the preservation category. These awards recognize the important work of these two organizations in safeguarding both tangible and intangible heritage.   Project Completed at Taos Pueblo Conservation and reconstruction work on Sub-House 2, an 11-unit adobe dwelling at the entrance to Taos Pueblo in New Mexico, was completed in July 2012. Ten pueblo trainees, led by two supervisors, learned traditional construction methods while rebuilding most of the central two-story section of the building, which had been in a state of near-collapse. With the completion of the work, the units in Sub-House 2 are being re-occupied by their original families, who will undertake the annual cyclical maintenance tasks required for adobe structures. Taos Pueblo was on the 2010 Watch.  2012 Hadrian Award Gala  On October 23, at a gala at The Plaza Hotel in New York City, WMF will present the 25th Hadrian Award to Kenneth Chenault, CEO and Chairman of American Express. The Watch Award will be given to the Duke of Devonshire. Following the gala will be the second annual after party, being held this year at Rouge Tomate. We hope you will join us at the gala or the after party.  WMF Assists in World Heritage Training  UNESCO's Amman office and the World Heritage Center in Paris organized, with the Jordanian Department of Antiquities, a two-day training course in Amman on the obligations to the World Heritage Convention. The course was held at the Department of Antiquities' headquarters on September 19 and 20 for the directors of sites that are either inscribed on the World Heritage List or on the Tentative List. WMF and the International Union for Conservation of Nature collaborated on the initiative by providing instructors and teaching material. WMF's Gaetano Palumbo delivered two lectures, one on the preparation of site management plans and the other on management planning issues at World Heritage sites.

Seminario de comunicación del patrimonio y diseño de itinerarios interpretativos

Los itinerarios interpretativos son rutas destinadas al público general que se desarrollan en un entorno determinado (natural, rural, urbano, etc.) y en las que se interpretan o explican, con el apoyo de una serie de medios complementarios (un guía intérprete, folletos o carteles, entre otros) los elementos conformadores de ese espacio, así como la importancia de la conservación de sus valores patrimoniales. Con este taller pretendemos mostrar la metodología que la Interpretación del Patrimonio nos ofrece para comunicar el patrimonio y para planificar, diseñar y evaluar itinerarios interpretativos (guiados y autoguiados). Se contará con exposiciones teóricas que serán seguidas por actividades prácticas para que los asistentes apliquen los procedimientos de trabajo interpretativo en casos simulados.
